VALERIE LETELLIER
Producer, Writer
Born in France in 1963, Valérie Letellier has grown in Geneva. Parallel to her studies in philosophy and religious history, she began training in the Swiss Federation of Journalists and entered the professional register in 1986. After several years working in the press media, audio and written, her studies on Zen Buddhism brought her to Japan where she spent several years.
Therefore, her interest in language and semiotics grew and led her to study linguistics and Lacanian psychoanalysis. She is presently finishing a thesis on the law of language and castration in Lacan’s work.
During her research on the structure of language and the unconscious, Valérie Letellier is naturally led to consider music as the most sublimated form of the symbolic link which unites mankind to the social world that surrounds it.
Passionate about opera since her childhood, music and voice remain to her the most amazing conjunction of the creative act. It is for this reason she started to collaborate with Louis Crelier. After having taken part in the development of «La Citadelle de Verre» (The Glass Citadel), she is currently writing a libretto whose dramaturgical frame highlights the ambiguous position between Japan and the West in a scenography using the codes of the Japanese theatre "Kabuki".
